Complete systems are available
in standard mount, high mount and ultra-high mount, dependant on
bike model. The installation of HIGH-MOUNTS requires the removal
of the rear passenger footrests and the right-hand indicator in
most, but not all cases.
All the exhaust systems are made from AISI 304 stainless steel .
This is TIG-welded and, where necessary, filler rod is used. In
the latter case, the rod material is always stainless steel, to
prevent oxidation (rust) around the welds. Around the welded junctions,
the various collectors are cleaned and ported internally using a
special grinding process. This ensures that every part of the exhaust
is exactly as designed , giving optimized gas-flow. The manufacturing
techniques and processing cycles guarantee tight tolerances ,and
this combines perfect sealing of the joints, preventing exhaust
leaks, with easy assembly.
Meticulous attention to detail is demonstrated by the use of prestige
componentry: the cylinder head and adaptor flanges and the silencer
support brackets, are machined from solid aluminium alloy; the collector
brackets are made from stainless steel and equipped with an anti-vibration
rubber damper ; exhaust spigots are machined from billet stainless
steel. All the stainless steel parts undergo a special surface treatment
("scotch bright"), comprising an initial automatic
cleaning process followed by hand polishing.
The silencers are full race-spec
end-cans, available in aluminium alloy, carbon fiber or titanium.
A special feature worth mentioning, "borrowed" from racing,
is the housing for the ( lambda )sensor included in the high-mount
racing version. This is a sensor required for telemetric data acquisition
, to measure the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust. The stainless
steel bung for the ( lambda )sensor comes caped with a special safety
wired nut , required by those who do not use the above-mentioned
sensor.
