LeoVince SBK complete systems
replicate the standard layout. The line and general appearance
of
the system is identical to OE. The header pipes are matched to
the power unit, and are fabricated from AISI 304 stainless steel,
which
is TIG-welded, with or without filler material, according to circumstances.
Where filler is used, this is always stainless steel, to eliminate
the risk of corrosion. The inside of the header pipes is internally
ground and profiled around all welded joints.
This process gives
the production versions of the street-legal systems the same gas
flow characteristics as the prototypes worked on in the development
department. As a further benefit to customers, the systems used
in the production department ensure that the tolerances achieved
are as accurate as current technology allows, which makes them
easy to fit, and provides a perfect gas seal where the pipes join.
The outside of the header pipes
is treated with Scotch-Brite, which gives an elegant and workman-like
performance. The whole system
is characterised by attention to detail. For example, the flanges
where the systems clamp up to the cylinder heads are machined
from solid light alloy. The exhaust port adapter bushes are turned
from
stainless steel. All stainless components are treated to the Scotch-Brite
process. The silencer internals are made entirely from stainless
steel. Street-legal noise levels are achieved thanks to the twin
chamber layout of the silencer internals, which also have a double
outer skin.
Between these two skins, there
is a layer of durable sound-absorbent material which withstands
continuous use at 600
degrees C.
This makes a major contribution
towards vehicle silencing. The silencers are oval, the same as the
race versions, and are available
with
aluminium, carbon fibre, or titanium outer skins. |
